The mission of the Economic Development Commission is to promote sustainable economic development and to assist the Board of Selectmen and the Planning Board in the implementation of the Town’s economic goals and objectives.
The Town of Grafton is a MassBio Platinum-rated community with BL3 labs and a vivarium at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Grafton, located one exit west of the 495/95 interchange, has land zoned for life science, commercial, industrial, and manufacturing within walking distance of Tufts, an MBTA commuter rail station that connects Boston and Worcester, and a 319-unit housing project that will be built. The 84 acres in Grafton Science Park are Priority Development Sites in an Economically Target Area that qualify for expedited permitting.
Grafton’s pro-business attitude is demonstrated by the Town proactively offering tax incremental financing and a low, single tax rate.
