Process

Grafton Development Team MeetingsThe permitting and certification process can be long and confusing, but it doesn't have to be. Let us help you walk through the process so you will be prepared each step of the way.

First, the Town has a "Development Team Meeting" each Thursday at 2 pm or scheduled as needed. Appointments are encouraged but not required. At these meetings, developers, homeowners, business owners or just about anyone can come in and share their thoughts and plans with town officials. They will learn about the development process and gain insights to make the process run smoother. It can be very helpful to give the Town notice on what you may be planning; that way the Town can be prepared with specific instructions to help you.

You can call us at 508-839-5335, ext. 1120. Or you can submit a brief description of your project/idea and someone will contact you. You can also upload any drawings or pictures (hand-drawn is fine) that may be helpful. If you are unable to attend one of our Development Team Meetings, please contact us anyway. We can still assist you by phone or via email.

Second, the Town has developed user guides for several different types of projects. These guides give step-by-step instructions on what is needed and how to proceed on almost every conceivable project. The user guides are currently in the process of being updated.

Third, the Town Administrator's Office can provide "priority permitting." For projects that meet the communities goals for sustainable economic development, the Town can fast-track priority project to help save you time and money.
