The mission of the Trails Committee is to function as a liaison. The Committee shall promote the use of trails, engage the public, and provide information on trails in Grafton. Additionally, the Committee shall explore ideas for interconnecting Grafton's open spaces by working with the Grafton Land Trust and Town boards and departments on new trail development. The Committee shall consult with relevant Town and regional organizations where necessary to develop a map of existing trails and proposed routes and destinations.

The Trails Committee is a five member board that works in partnership with the Conservation Commission, Grafton Land Trust, Planning Board, and Recreation Commission to support the following action items from the 2020 Open Space and Recreation Plan:

(5.2-A) Identify gaps in trail network that might be filled with new land acquisitions

(5.1-B) Develop an outreach program when planning the town-wide trails to secure cooperation of affected landowners

(5.2-D) Create a Grafton Trail Loop and Layout preferred location and begin securing trail easements with affected property owners
