The Town of Grafton will be switching to a Semi-Annual Billing cycle effective June 30th, 2024, to minimize the cost of mailings to the town and its residents. The town remains on a quarterly billing cycle however we will only be sending out two bills a year.
The town plans to mail BOTH the preliminary tax bills due August 1st, and November 1st in the same mailing (June 30th). The taxpayer would be responsible for paying the August 1st bill and keeping the secondary payment stub in a “safe place” and paying that by November 1st. In the event a taxpayer loses their payment stub, they can go online to the town website www.grafton-ma.gov and print a copy. The same situation would be true for the actual tax bills mailed December 31st due February 1st and May 1st. Taxpayers can also pay online at the above website by clicking on the Pay Bills Online link on the home page of the town’s website.
Each bill will have three parts, the top portion will be the taxpayer’s copy, the middle portion will be remit # 2 for the November/May installment and the bottom portion will be remit #1 for the August/February installment.
The town is working on sample bills to post on the website as well as around town hall and other municipal buildings. My office will also hold informational sessions at the Council on Aging beginning in the New Year once the samples are available. If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact our office 508-839-5335 ext. 1340.
